#3 Providing Appropriate Pastoral Care and Interventions

Pastoral care is important in our youth ministry. In times of need, youth are most likely to turn to the adults they know best. Youth needadults who know how to listen, be present with them and don’t try to fix or save them. Volunteers and staff need to know how to share concerns and enlarge the circle of confidentiality when necessary by bringing in a minister, religious educator or parents. Adults in youth ministry should also support youth learning how tolisten deeply to each other.
