Description

The Diners’ Guide showcases food establishments who take the “high road” to profitability, providing livable wages, paid time off, racial equity, an environment free of sexual harassment, and opportunities for advancement. The 2019 version of the Diners’ Guide allows you to create an account, check-in to restaurants, and earn consumer loyalty rewards.

We refer to loyal consumers as Diners United ROC Stars, acknowledging your efforts to show thankfulness, appreciation, and respect for those taking the high road! Join a committed network of consumers who support restaurateurs taking the high road to profitability.

The Guide rates restaurants on the following criteria:
1) tipped worker wages,
2) non-tipped worker wages,
3) availability of paid time off,
4) a record of promoting employees from within or racial equity,
5) adoption of the RAISE anti-sexual harassment policy and/or training, and
6) membership in Restaurants Advancing Industry Standards in Employment (RAISE).

Based on these categories, points were assigned. Gold-rated restaurants with tipped workers earn four out of six points, while gold-rated restaurants with no tipped workers earn three out of five points. Silver-rated restaurants with tipped workers earn three out of six points, while silver-rated restaurants with no tipped workers earn three out of fix points.

You can make a difference for the 14 million plus restaurant workers across this nation in several simple ways. You can support high road restaurants and, most importantly, encourage your favorite restaurants not listed in this Guide to join RAISE. Through RAISE, your favorite restaurants can learn how to take the high road, or receive awards for already doing so. Please check-in when you visit high road restaurants and join the Diners United ROC Star Loyalty Rewards Program!

Dreaming for a healthier app ,

Starting point

This app attempts to raise awareness about what most of us do not think about when we eat outside. Of course it requires lots of data as feedback so facilitating what public could find and how to provide it to developers maybe it could help. In a bigger picture if data is inaccurate (talk to your waiter?) people will no longer use it . Hopefully there will be more apps like this to link buying power and truly better businesses. Great concept.

Best app out there for diners!

If you care about where and what you eat, then this is the app for you! The only one of its kind that let’s me know if the establishment treats their workers well. Reputable research shows that when workers are treated well, the food is better too!

Error message

This app does not work at all. It cannot find local restaurants. I’m on the latest iOS on an iPhone 13. Serious update needed.
